Reading Cinemas had an existing online platform and backend portal, but both required a complete UI overhaul and functional - including accessibility - upgrades, to support the company’s expanding operations.
The backend portal, built on outdated infrastructure, also needed a full rebuild – including a restructure of the navigation system and content management workflows to improve usability and scalability.

New features introduced across the customer-facing and internal systems included:
•Food & beverage order management for cinema kitchens
•Portable POS system
•Updated customer ticketing workflow
•Expanded refund capabilities, allowing itemised self-service refunds
•Online purchase of digital gift cards
•Digital loyalty membership integration with loyalty tiers
•Granular, role-based access restrictions for cinema staff
•Reinforced data security measures
•Ensured new features adhered to accessibility standards

Challenges addressed:
•Overcoming constraints with third-party systems such as Vista, a Cinema Management Software that manages inventory for films, F&B, and gift cards.
•Navigating complex legal and regulatory requirements across different countries and states.
•Accommodating regional brand variations, including different loyalty programs and pricing structures.
•Ensuring customer data security, with secure storage of credit card and personal details; SMS-based authentication was implemented in Australia to prevent unauthorised access.

This project was a joint collaboration between Reading Cinemas’ international team and eNoah’s design and development solutions team.
I directed and managed the design phase of the project end-to-end, with duties such as:
•Client-facing design consultation – collaborating across multiple divisions at Reading Cinemas, including IT, Marketing, Sales, and Cinema Management – to identify workflow pain points and define effective solutions.
•End-to-end design project coordination – including managing project priorities and delivery timelines.
•Leading and mentoring designers within the eNoah team.
•Defining end-to-end workflow product requirements.
•Designing and preparing high fidelity prototypes and final production-ready design assets for design and development teams.
•Conducting user testing throughout key stages of the project.
